We all are on long roads; some roads are longer than others and majority of us are good drivers. It is until you get to that private road that only you can navigate. For a long I knew that I had to take a step back and take a good look at myself. Not for who I am as a person, but how long I will be that person. Unfortunately, that takes the most time to find out what you really want to do. But most importantly it is how I felt both emotionally and physically.
My family history is not one where there was a big concern for health reasons. We all have a little extra around the center especially as we mature. Being mindful what you eat should take care of that right? Of course, maintaining a proper diet and exercise is the key, right? I discovered working with Maria, there is so much more to it. I thought, as most do, I could do it on my own, no problem. Well, it was a roadblock for me and having that accountability of a coach was a game-changer.
At the beginning of 2019 I picked up the phone and called an old friend, Maria. I saw this friend gradually over time become a different person, both inside and out. I asked my friend what her tactic was and how can I achieve those goals. Maria said, “Time and perseverance but, first and foremost making that decision to take the right steps.”
With some soul searching and deciding to do what is best I joined Coach Maria’s Tribe! I am ever so thankful making that decision and for Maria’s guidance along the way! When I felt low and could not see the light at the end of the tunnel, it was the words and wisdom from her.
Having guidance from a Coach that was once in my shoes was more encouraging than someone that was the picture of perfect fitness. Experience guiding the hopeful. What is more important about Maria’s guidance is that she becomes your friend. She is supportive, understanding and yet still can easily mold in her ‘teachings’, if you will, to gently guide you along the way. Thank you, Maria, for your knowledge and understanding. To be able to gain confidence in what I lost; as well as energy and a smile when I put my clothes on and they were too big.
